A positive experience for all.
From my experience as a filmmaker so far, I’ve learned enough to know that I’m not the type that feels they have to suffer to create great art. I believe films can across the board be positive experiences for all the creative professionals involved. I try as hard as I can to foster a positive experience on set.
I think respect is a concept that is often lost in the self-indulgence that is making movies. I often try to remind myself of two things: Respect for storytelling and Respect for my audience.
Learning about film is a non-stop proposition for me. The only thing I have to grapple with is that I will never conquer it, only hopefully become good enough to one day be a part of its history.
Film is a way to transport oneself into the worlds of other people, to experience what it's like to not be yourself. I believe this to be a powerful tool that helps me understand other people's perspectives.
